Ryu Man-Hee

Lee Dong-Sun
Abstract
This study aims to examine the determinants of the performance on Korean Self-sufficiency program(hereafter, Hope Reborn project) considering the employability levels of the participants. The analysis used a Hope Reborn participants database over the period 2009-2011. The Policy recommendations based on this analysis are as follows. First, the determining factors of employability level were different. Therefore diversification of Hope Reborn project considering the employability of participants is required. Second, in-depth case management is required for lack of support system model because most these participants consist of the social vulnerable classes(low-income, householder, low human capital women). Third, overall internal training including career education and social support system needs to be strengthened. These two factors have a strong influence on the job performance. Lastly, Hope Reborn project has to improve standards of the employability decision system. Based on the results of this study, we hope that Hope Reborn project could have substantial effects as a workfare policy.
